Great topic for Illustration Friday... Once I got my idea anyway... but here I am... alphabet.... nope, no new character to add this week, just a drawing representing every letter in the alphabet. I had fun..

Moon

Being sick this past week has not been conducive for creating any new art. Needless to say, I didn't want to fall behind on Illustration Friday, so I went into my drawing archives to retrieve a picture that would fulfill this week's topic. This was done a few years ago when I was trying to learn how to work my color pencils..

Poem

Good grief.. I was really stumped on this week's word for Illustration Friday.. I hadn't a clue... So I thought and thought and thought... Well, something did finally come to me.. I'm not sure if it illustrates the word poem very well... But at any rate, it's done... Oh yes... There actually is a poem that I wrote on the board that she's holding....

Discovery

This week I wanted to do just a bit more on my illustration from what I've normally been doing on Illustration Friday... Discovery... AHA! Eureka!!! I found it my dear Watson!!
Little boys and trees and birds and nests.... and you have discovery...

I always told my husband, I would never, ever put my hand into my son's pockets before I did laundry when my son was little. I was always afraid at what I would find... Now my son is 17... and I still won't check his pockets before laundry.... Of course, the things that I'm afraid I'll find have changed over the years!!!

Anyway, here is discovery... a different world from ours, but a new life none-the-less...

Twist

Wow! Where is the time going? Here we are, another week, another new word from Illustration Friday.. Twist... Ummm, the Peppermint Twist? How about Chubby Checker?... "Come on baby, let's do the twist"... Oh no, I fear I'm showing my age.. Oh well, I had fun with this illustration though and I hope you enjoy it..

Camouflage

Holy Moses...! Here we are, another new week, another new word!! Ahhh, but this time, I'm on top of Illustration Friday...

Thanks to my friend Carole, when I told her the new word... her idea was waaaay better then what I had.. Although I'm sorry Carole, it most likely wasn't what you had envisioned.

Camouflage... great word, what are we trying to hide? Most people are trying to hide something.. With me, it's my emotions.. I camouflage my emotions with laughter. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail miserably.

In this case, my camouflage is a scrawny kid, trying to look bigger by wearing baggy clothes. Rock on dude!

Rejection

It's been a while since I've done any illustrations for Illustration Friday.. I really didn't think that I'd be doing this weeks either. Rejection... how in the hell do you illustrate ....... REJECTION...?

Sitting in my hotel room Sunday night.. I felt insignificant and very much alone.. I sat and thought about the current turn of events in my life... and then my illustration came to me..

All friendships go through tough times, up times and down times... It's the true friendships that can weather and endure those times, those are the friendships that will become stronger because of it.. Which made me think of my best friend, Ann... We're going through a tough time right now.. I'm not even sure if we'll ever be able to recover from it.... only time will tell I guess...

Sadness, sadness is a word that comes to mind when I think of rejection. I wanted it to come through in my illustration... So, which one is me...? The answer may surprise you. I gave, I opened my heart even though I had many reservations.... I trusted, I cared.. I love my best friend like a sister... and yet.... here I am... walking away, due to differences, expectations.. hurt feelings.. harsh words.... Walking away... hmmmm..... rejection.....

This is one of the few pictures that I put very little color into it.. I wanted it to feel as bleak and drained as I feel right now... but through it all, all I can say, is that if it's meant to be, this too will work out and we will be stronger friends.. We'll understand even more about each other...

Which one is me?.. you ask.... Honestly... both....

"Fortune"

Fortune... It was my good "Fortune" to stumble across the Friday Illustration
website...Hmmm , should I illustrate "Fortune" as in riches?
"Fortune" as in luck, good or bad? Or... "Fortune" as a seer, a person
who will tell the future... I chose that last option.... So, as an artist, as a visionary myself... I present to you... Fortune...

"Green"

Dog gone it! Too busy to do last week's Illustration Friday word... But this week... WOOHOO! Right on track.... GREEN! Hmmm, Green Grass....? How about a Green Four Leaf Clover...? Green with Envy..?
Nah....... Green... as in I'm turning Green at the thought of another bite of junk food!! heehee....
