Discovery

This week I wanted to do just a bit more on my illustration from what I've normally been doing on Illustration Friday... Discovery... AHA! Eureka!!! I found it my dear Watson!!
Little boys and trees and birds and nests.... and you have discovery...

I always told my husband, I would never, ever put my hand into my son's pockets before I did laundry when my son was little. I was always afraid at what I would find... Now my son is 17... and I still won't check his pockets before laundry.... Of course, the things that I'm afraid I'll find have changed over the years!!!

Anyway, here is discovery... a different world from ours, but a new life none-the-less...

Hi Karin! your drawings are very beautiful. Very colourful and lively, you really can express a mood, an emotion or reation in each of them. GREAT!!

you really captured delighted surprise at this new discovery! at 17, I wouldn't touch my son's clothes with a stick...come to think of it, at 23 - I still won't! Great illo!

Have I seen those "EYES" somewhere before, Karin??? Great switch in technique... I absolutely love the detail and vibrancy of the leaves... as well as the composition. What a sweet rememberance of "new life" and a new character is born! I look forward to more! Bonny

I really like all the negative space in this image - upsidedown "vees" draw the eyes up just like the subjects'.

Karin! You really did a great job with the hair......oh, how did I know that he'd be a blonde just like Travis??

You've inspired me so much that I went to the library and got yet another drawing book......and, as soon as I find an area without 'clutter', I'm going to start 'drawing' more with you.

I love your new character, and can't want to get my own 'autographed' copy of THE BOOK!
